About Gulf Shores Seawall.
Local bulkhead research in plain words.

Published by Gulf Shores Seawall. Editorial contact: contact@gulfshoresseawall.com.

This site helps owners understand a bulkhead or seawall, the permit path and the cost before they call anyone.

What this site does

Gulf Shores Seawall is a planning and help site for seawall and bulkhead work. It covers Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan, Bon Secour, Foley, Magnolia Springs, Weeks Bay and the Fish River shores.

The site does not build anything. It explains how the work gets permitted, what drives cost and what to ask a contractor. If you send a request, a local marine contractor follows up.

How the research works

Every local rule on these pages comes from a public record. Baldwin County sets who permits which parcel, and the city or the county handles the rest. Baldwin County jurisdiction

Alabama splits coastal duties. State Lands handles planning and policy, and ADEM handles permits and enforcement. ADEM coastal program

  • City and county codes, fee schedules and permit pages.
  • Alabama Department of Environmental Management rules and fees.
  • Alabama State Lands Division rules for submerged land.
  • Army Corps of Engineers permits and notices.
  • NOAA water levels and National Hurricane Center storm reports.
  • FEMA flood maps and disaster records, and public bid tabulations.
